Community Outreach and Education

Education and awareness are essential to preventing domestic violence and supporting survivors.

The Family Justice Center works throughout the community to provide training, presentations, and educational resources that help individuals, organizations, and professionals recognize abuse, respond appropriately, and connect people with the help they need.

Building Awareness. Strengthening Communities.

The Family Justice Center is committed to educating the community about domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and the resources available to support survivors. Through outreach efforts and educational programs, we work with community groups, schools, employers, and service providers to increase awareness and promote informed, compassionate responses to abuse.

Our outreach initiatives are designed to empower individuals with knowledge, reduce stigma surrounding domestic violence, and strengthen the network of support available throughout our community.

Training for Professionals

We offer educational presentations and training opportunities for professionals who may encounter individuals experiencing abuse in their work. These sessions help participants better understand the dynamics of domestic violence and learn how to respond safely and effectively.

Training topics may include:

  • Recognizing the warning signs of domestic violence
  • Responding to disclosures of abuse
  • Safety planning and survivor-centered support
  • Understanding the impact of trauma
  • Connecting individuals with community resources

These trainings are valuable for healthcare providers, educators, social service professionals, law enforcement personnel, and community organizations.

Community Presentations

The Family Justice Center also provides presentations for community groups, civic organizations, faith communities, and workplaces. These sessions focus on increasing awareness about domestic violence, promoting prevention, and helping community members understand how they can support survivors.

Presentations can be tailored to the needs of the group and may address topics such as:

  • Understanding domestic violence and its impact
  • How to help someone experiencing abuse
  • Healthy relationships and prevention
  • Available services and support resources

Partnering with the Community

Addressing domestic violence requires collaboration across many sectors. The Family Justice Center works closely with community partners to expand education efforts and ensure that survivors know where to turn for help.

Through ongoing outreach, training, and collaboration, we aim to build a safer, more informed community where survivors are supported and violence is not tolerated.
